Several years ago you did a presentation at an SDC workshop, I believe. I don’t remember year or place, but I remember being very impressed with the presentation; your knowledge, your sense of humor, your respect for the importance of collecting accurate data and using it to make a difference.

Thanks Edie. How nice of you to attend my party! You know I was an State Data Coordinator (SDC) in the late 1990s and was on the committee that developed the first "Federal State Cooperative System" (FSCS) to collect national public library data. I consider that to be a highlight of my career. I see a great future for this effort due to the fine work of all the SDCs and the strong commitment and leadership of IMLS. My best to you and to the Indiana State Library. My sister just relocated to Indianapolis, so I will probably be visiting your fair city before too long.
